Team coaching
For a team that has stopped deciding, two departments passing responsibility back and forth, or a group rebuilt after a reorganisation. The work starts with a diagnosis, and it may conclude that the problem is not where everyone thought it was.

What you will be able to do
- Give the team a shared objective
- Give the work meaning and motivate the team
- Strengthen team cohesion
Programme
Diagnosis
- Confidential one-to-one interviews with each member of the team
- Observation of a real team meeting
- Read-back to the sponsor and then to the team — the same read-back, with no softened version
Working sessions
- Three to five group sessions, on real subjects rather than on exercises
- Work on how decisions get made: consensus, consultation, arbitration — and who chooses the mode
- DISC or the Enneagram introduced where the friction is primarily relational
Rules and follow-up
- The team writes its own working rules, few in number and checkable
- Follow-up session at three months, then at six
- A conversation with the leader on what now rests with them alone
What this coaching brings
Team coaching is collective support with tailored content, adapted to the expectations and objective of the sponsor, aimed at developing the team’s cohesion, its performance, and its ability to communicate and work together through collective intelligence. ABP Consulting offers collective coaching, seminars and team-building sessions grounded in a real vision of the team and of integration, while encouraging and respecting everyone’s values.
A range of tailored themes, depending on your collective objectives:
- Building cohesion
- Working better together, knowing each other better and communicating better
- Developing your collective performance, your capacity to innovate and to carry a project through
- Defining and rolling out a vision for a department or a company
Depending on the team’s objective and size, a format is co-constructed with the sponsor. The first aim is to optimise and develop the team’s potential, while giving it time to step back in a spirit of conviviality and togetherness.
Questions about this course
What if the diagnosis implicates the team's own leader?
It happens often, which is why their explicit agreement is asked for before anything starts. The read-back given to the team is the same one given to the sponsor: two different versions would destroy the credibility of the whole exercise in a single session. Where that agreement is not given, we stop at the diagnosis.
Are the individual interviews confidential?
Yes. What reaches the group read-back is aggregated observation, never attributable remarks. This is stated to each person at the start of their interview, because the quality of the diagnosis depends entirely on their trusting it.
How long does an engagement take?
The diagnosis takes two to three weeks. The group sessions then run across three to four months, with follow-up at three and six months. Team coaching compressed into a single week does not produce lasting change, and we do not offer it that way.
Is this the same as a team-building seminar?
No. A seminar strengthens a team that already works; team coaching treats a team that does not. Putting a seminar on top of an untreated problem usually makes things worse, because it enforces a warmth nobody in the room actually feels.
